It is located to the north-west of Cantón Sucúa, it is a Community that shelters about 200 families of which we can highlight the existence of at least 180 children. Like the other Shuar communities; This is dedicated to agriculture, livestock, fishing. Here we can find a care center for children from 0 to 5 years of age, an educational unit that provides education for children and young people between 5 and 15 years old.

The Community of Kumpas has natural attractions that are ready to be explored and enjoyed by those who wish to know a mystical, quiet and natural place with simple and friendly people. The same location of the Community is already an attraction itself, also have a tour in the jungle with rivers, waterfalls, huge trees, medicinal plants, etc., etc. You can enjoy the beach of the Upano River as it surrounds the Community, you can visit the hot springs, enjoy a day of fishing and countless simple and natural activities that the Community offers.
Within the gastronomy you can taste an Ayampaco; It is a typical dish of the Ecuadorian Amazon. It was part of the Shuar gastronomy and over the years was assimilated by the mestizos who gave transformations with the use of various ingredients.
The Ayampaco in the Shuar communities uses palm hearts, herbs, crushed fish and spices as ingredients. The fish that is used is the caracha, a fish that has its habitat in the rivers of the Ecuadorian Amazon.
 
Traditionally the Shuar man wore a skirt called “Itip” woven in cotton and dyed with natural dyes: the woman, a kind of tunic tied on one shoulder and tied at the waist by a cord, in the Community these garments are used only occasionally special
